I qualified as a veterinary nurse (RVN) in April 2005 after completing a full time course run by Glasgow Vet School and Edinburgh’s Telford College. I have worked in both mixed and small animal practices. In August 2014 I joined Avalon.
I knew from a very young age that I wanted to be a vet nurse having had many hamsters, guinea-pigs, rats and rabbits over the past 25 years and thoroughly enjoyed looking after them all. I currently have a number of exhibition Syrian hamsters. I also have a Continental Giant Rabbit called Fred who is 8.5kg and not yet fully grown!
In 2013 I completed the diploma in veterinary nursing of rabbits and really enjoyed the course. In 2015 I completed a course on canine nutrition for veterinary nurses and also thoroughly enjoyed it.
In my spare time I enjoy photography, gardening, card making and exhibiting my Syrian hamsters and also Fred does attend the occasional show.
